Your three-layer protection plan
James Hardie's fiber cement substrate is warranted against manufacturing defects for 30 years. This covers the structural integrity of the siding board itself: cracking, splitting, and structural failures due to manufacturing issues.

The Color Plus factory-applied finish is backed by a 15-year limited warranty against peeling, chipping, cracking, and excessive fade. This is the most comprehensive paint/finish warranty in the siding industry.
- Covers peeling, chipping, and cracking of finish
- Covers excessive fading (significant color change)
- Factory-applied only, not available for field-painted products
- Requires registration within 30 days of installation
We stand behind every installation we complete. Our 5-year workmanship warranty covers installation defects, including improper fastening, improper flashing, and moisture intrusion resulting from our installation work.

Why installer certification matters for your warranty
James Hardie product warranties require installation by an authorized contractor. As an Elite Preferred Contractor, the highest certification level James Hardie awards, we are fully qualified to validate your warranty.
Non-certified installers cannot activate the full James Hardie warranty on your behalf. This is one of the most important reasons to choose a certified contractor over a general contractor who occasionally installs siding.

We had a house from the 90s with brittle, oxidizing vinyl and lots of rotting fascia and trim. I'd been putting off a siding replacement for years. After getting a couple bids, we went with Direct Siding which was a lower estimate, but more importantly, they seemed knowledgeable and professional.
